THE PACIIC OCEAN IS OUR COMMON THREAD

In 1513 Vasco Nunez de Balboa crossed the isthmus of the Panama to discover a vast ocean.  He named it

Mar del Sur.  Little did he realize he had touched a body of water comprising 46% of the Earths surface, 

almost 64 million square miles.  Eight years later Ferdinand Magellan sailed into that ocean and renamed it 

Mar Pacific, the peaceful sea and a new page of history was born.
